No to Con Ass

The Constituent Assembly of the Republic of the Philippines more commonly known as CON–ASS will be the joint meeting of both houses of the Congress of the Philippines which composes of the House of Representatives and the Senate that will propose amendments to the Constitution of the Philippines following the passage by the House of Representatives of House Resolution No. 1109 on June 2, 2009 by viva voce in a move to shift the government from the current presidential to parliamentary. All amendments would need the approval of three-fourths (¾) approval of Congress. This is my reason why i joined "NO to Con-Ass"The said approval of House Bill 1109 empowered or gave authority to the Congress to organize a Constituent Assembly, where members of the House and the Senate could vote jointly to amend the 1987 Constitution.

So that is why some of the small and big sectors around the country have joined each other and encouraged individuals to buy a whistle or wear a red ribbon on June 10 and hit the streets in protest against the convening of a Constituent Assembly (ConAss).

HOLE IN THE WALL

GMA Network acquired the rights to the show and premiered its version on April 20, 2009. The show, Hole in the Wall, is hosted by Ogie Alcasid and Michael V, who are portraying their Bubble Gang characters Angelina, the English-speaking spoiled brat, and her long-suffering babysitter Yaya in the show respectively. In the first few weeks of airing, they used celebrities, but the show later also uses actual contestants.
The concept of this game: Contestants play in teams and only win points if they are able to fit though the wall. Points are awarded if the contestant(s) in the round are able to successfully cross the Styrofoam wall completely.

MY NAME IS KIM SAM SOON

The Main Story goes around with Kim Sam Soon.Her main passion and skills are in baking, as she does not have much of a social life, dreams of changing her name (Sam-Soon is considered a very old-fashioned and embarrassing name) and owning a shop of her own. After her breakup with her boyfriend, she managed to land herself in a big French restaurant working as a patiesseur for a rude and angsty 27-year-old man called Cyrus. Both were in bad terms ever since they set eyes on each other. But one day, Sam-Soon finds herself in need of 50 million won (Korean currency, approximately $50,000) to pay for her mother's house. She agrees to be Cyrus girlfriend for that amount. During their pretend dating they slowly become more affectionate with each other. When things seem to go accordingly, Cyrus' ex-girlfriend, Hannah Kim enters the scene and life for Sam-Soon starts getting much worse. Cyrus then realizes that he is happier with Sam-Soon and can't stop thinking about her. He confesses his love to her after she tells him that she hates people who don't confess their feelings towards the person they like. Hannah asks Cyrus to accompany her on her return to the United States. Sam-Soon allows him to go, and he does not return within the promised duration. He soon arrives, and they find out that he has been sending postcards to the wrong address. Sam-Soon and Cyrus attempt to get her pregnant, in order to convince Cyrus' mother into allowing their marriage. The plan fails, but they remain together. Near the very end of the series, Sam-Soon reads a poem from a poster on a bus stop: "Dance like no one's watching. Sing like no one's listening. Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt before. Live like there's no tomorrow.

CHIL PRINCESSES

'Famous Princesses' (Chil Princesses) is a story about four sisters, Deok-chil, Seol-chil, Mi-chil and Jong-chil, whose father is a retired military man. This humorous drama depicts the real-life stories of today’s families, eliciting both laughter and tears from its viewers. The life of the oldest sister, Deok-chil, whose unloving husband divorces her, shows problems facing remarried couples. The upbeat and confident second sister, Seol-chil, plays the role of a son to her parents and ends up fighting for love against her younger sister, the pretty but selfish Mi-chil, who is the family’s troublemaker. Finally, the youngest of the sisters, Jong-chil, becomes pregnant and marries her boyfriend at a tender age, facing numerous conflicts with her in-laws

NGAYON AT KAILANMAN

Sine Novela Presents: Ngayon At Kailanmanis an upcoming Philippine drama on GMA Network. The original movie was released back in 1992. The series stars Heart Evangelista and JC De Vera. WHO'S YOUR BET FOR THE 2010 ELECTION

Presidential elections, legislative elections and local elections in the Philippines are scheduled to be held on May 10, 2010. The elected president will become the 15th President of the Philippines, succeeding President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who is barred from seeking re-election due to term restrictions.The 2010 election will be administered by the Commission on Elections in compliance with the Republic Act No. 9369, also known as Amended Computerization Act of 2007. It will be the first national computerized election in the history of the Philippines. Even though his family was broken, Lito Sanchez (Aljur Abrenica) got everything he wanted. All the material possessions, the girls, and the fun. Myrna Ramos (Kris Bernal) is a straight "A" student coming from a devoted religious family. When Lito started to court Myrna, she immediately fell in love with him. Myrna's family, especially Myrna's father, dislike Lito, causing the couple to hide their relationship. Their roller coaster of emotions led from one thing to another until they slept together. These two teenagers were suddenly flung into the world of marriage when Myrna discovered that she was pregnant. Myrna tried to hold everything together. She defended her decision to stay with Lito to the whole world convincing herself that Lito is with her in every step of the way, but she knew she couldn't fool the world, not even herself. Lito refuses to hold responsibility, especially when Myrna gets a miscarriage, and falls into a depression. Daisy Siete is a daily afternoon drama series topbilled by the SexBomb Girls, an all-girl singing dance group in the Philippines.The program is produced by FOCUS Entertainment Inc. and aired over GMA Network in the Philippines.Seasons 2 to 6 were weekly episodes, where the story is not continuous. Seasons 1 and 7-9 followed a soap opera-like approach. The first seasons were light and the real dramatic highlights were provided in Seasons 7 and so forth.Daisy Siete is now on its 22nd season and is titled “Kambalilong".The series is topbilled by the SexBomb Girls, an all-girl singing dance group of Eat Bulaga fame. It is produced by Joy Cancio, the manager of the group.

EAT BULAGA

Eat Bulaga! is a local noon-time variety show in the Philippines produced by the Television And Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE) of Malou Fagar and Tony Tuviera. The program is the longest-running variety show on Philippine television. It also holds the Philippine record of all-time number of live TV episodes.The show is aired on GMA Network at 12pm on Weekdays and on Saturdays.Over the years, many people have predicted that the show would move to another network every time their contract with GMA was close to expiry. But, in interviews with GMA executives led by Atty. Felipe Gozon and Jimmy Duavit - GMA expressed their desire to keep the show for as long as they can as there is no vacant timeslot in other TV station and to let its ratings rise. Joey de Leon on the other hand, is also considered as an important factor to Bulaga's stay in GMA since he has been fiercely loyal to the station and his efforts have been rewarded.Eat Bulaga is considered by many as an institution - becoming a launchpad for many different Filipino comedians and showbiz newbies who have had large success on the show. Tony Tuviera identified the show as a "way of life" when they beat MTV's Tsunami Aid special at the Asian Television Awards.

ANOTHER CONFIRMED CASE OF H1N1 IN THE PHILIPPINES

It was reported that a foreign exchange student of De La Salle University was confirmed to have infected by Influenza A H1N1 Virus. There will be a 10 day Class Suspension and higher officials advice the student not to go to malls as much as possible to avoid any possible outbreak. Overall, there are 22 confirmed cases of H1N1 in the Philippines which is quite alarming. In relation with this WHO was about to consider this as a Global Outbreak , Global Pandemic disease.

PLANE CRASH

An airplane seat, a fuel slick and pieces of white debris scattered over three miles of open ocean marked the site in the mid-Atlantic on Tuesday where Air France Flight 447 plunged to its doom.Brazilian military pilots spotted the wreckage, sad reminders bobbing on waves, in the ocean 400 miles (640 kilometers) northeast of these islands off Brazil's coast. The plane carrying 228 people vanished Sunday about four hours into its flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris.The effort to recover the debris and locate the all-important black box recorders, which emit signals for only 30 days, is expected to be exceedingly challenging.Brazilian military pilots first spotted the floating debris early Tuesday in two areas about 35 miles (60 kilometers) apart, said Air Force spokesman Jorge Amaral. The area is not far off the flight path of Flight 447.The cause of the crash will not be known until the black boxes are recovered

Lalola was an Argentine telecomedy and aired at GMA daily before SIS.This comedy is about a man named Ramiro "Lalo" Padilla, who is the director of the media company High Five, editor of the famous magazine Don, and has many women around him. Romina , who is in love with Lalo, decides to avenge his lack of commitment by hiring a witch, who has him undergo a spell and turns him into a very beautiful woman, as Romina wanted to make him feel so desperate like a woman who is being harassed.Now, this man locked in a woman's body tries to pass himself off as someone else, because nobody will believe that he's suffered metamorphosis. So, she enters the company as Dolores "Lola" Padilla , cousin of Lalo, because Lalo "had to make an urgent trip to Germany because his father becamLAe ill", and therefore left her in his post.From this start, very funny situations happen, in which Lalo begins to discover Grace , her best friend, and all the things that make women different from men: using heels, wearing skirts, menstruation, and so on. With sisters Janice and Gelli De Belen plus the bubbly Carmina Villaroel on board on this daily morning talk show. SiS revolves around the lighter, more interesting and entertaining side of people, places and events.The shows takes place with Parenting, useful tips, relevant issues and trends.The show was conceptualized by GMA executives in 2001 who wanted a different approach to typical morning talk shows seen on TV. At that time, the 10:30 to 11:30 am slot was lorded over by rival network ABS-CBN which had produced top-rating morning talk shows like Mel & Jay,Today with Kris Aquino, and Talk TV (which was on air at the time SiS was conceived). At that time, GMA was catching up on ABS-CBN through Show and Tell, Katok mga Misis!, Partners Mel and Jay, Brunch with Bing and Michelle, and D! Day.
The show owes its success to its creative staff who has never ceased to think of ways to make the TV show interesting to audiences. Although there were claims that "Sis" has lost its luster following competing show "Homeboy"'s critical and commercial acclaim, all of it was put into rest following the latter show's cancellation. As of July 2007, "Sis" now faces stiff competition from ABS-CBN's "Boy & Kris" featuring the Philippines' King of Talk Boy Abunda (from Homeboy) and Philippines' Queen of Talk Kris Aquino but ABS-CBN decided to cancel the latter due to low ratings proving that SIS is the morning talkshow leader.
