Richard As the new Host oif Survivor Philippines

It was confirmed that Richard Gutierrez will host the third season of GMA's reality show, Survivor. Richard replaced its former host Paolo Bediones after trabsferring and signing an exculsive contract with TV5. There will be a big change in the upcoming third season of Survivor. It was said that the reality show will be dubbed as Survivor Philippines Celebrity Edition. Third season was reported to premiere sometime in 2010. According to a report on 24 Oras, the show would involve celebrities, which explains the lack of audition dates. Let's just hope that this new season will give us thrills and excitement more than as what we felt with the previous seasons.

OPM MONDAY : CHARICE PEMPENGCO

It is very undeniable that Charise Pempengco is now an international singing sensation. Performing in different America's top rating shows like Ellen and Oprah is enough to consider her international fame. Aside from those talk shows, Charice made various appearance in some of international concerts including David Foster, Andrea Bocheli, Josh Groban, Celine Dion, and a whole lot more. Charice even made a cameo role in an animated film, Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. Charice career is unstoppable. Before she became popular in Youtube, charice once joined one of Abs-Cbn Talent Show, Little Big Star. However, she was eliminated after her first performance, she was later called back as a wildcard contender and eventually became a finalist. Although she was a consistent top scorer in the final rounds, she only finished in third place based on text voting. It was year 2007 that Pempengco gained worldwide recognition after an avid supporter started posting videos of her live performances onto YouTube under the username FalseVoice. Domination of Talent Shows

Have you noticed that Talent Shows are dominating out television? from one channel to another, there's always a talent show. TV5 started it all after a huge success of their very own "Talentadong Pinoy" It was then followed by other talent shows from different tv stations. GMA added a talent portion in their show "Pinoy Records" and named it Pinoy Extreme Talents. Then ABS-CBN launched their newest Talent show "Showtime" in daytime slot followed by GMA's Showwwtime hosted by Michael V. Then GMA launched another show opposite Showtime "Diz is iT". Then lastly, the ABS-CBN "Pilipinas Got Talent" who almost have the same theme with Talentadong Pinoy.
Good thing, GMA break the competition as they replaced their Showwwtime to a citcom "Pepito Manaloto". At least we have somthing to watch if we felt bored with the two other talent shows right?
By the way, speaking of talent shows, have you watched the Talentadong Pinoy's Battle of the Champion. I was so amazed with all the hall of famers, except for the unsatisfying performance of the Ladder Balancer. I thought the winner would be MakataTawanan or Wanlu, the Ventriloquist. In the end, The YoYo tricker won the title and dubbed as the first Ultimate Talentado.

Do You Love Jolina Magdangal's New Looks

This is Jolina Magdangal during her Teenage years. She used to be an icon because of her unique fashion statement.

This is the new Jolina after reinventing her image.

I hate Jolina Magdangal's new look. I don't want to be harsh but as an avid viewer, i guess it's quite inappropriate for her age to dress like Lady Gaga or something. Okay, we know the fact that she's doing this to promote her new magazine entitled "Icon". Well, yes she's a fashion icon but that's way back 90's. I like her wholesome image than her new look. If this is a career move or for promotional purposes only, for me it's not working out. She will still be in the main cast of "Party Pilipinas", in replacement for SOP. Now, i'm just wishing to see the wholesome Jolina. It is okay to dress like Lady Gaga for entertainment or performance purposes, but immortalizing it is not a great idea.

It's been a while since i post an entry for this blog. My apology. Actually it's been a busy week for me because i got some additional works to finished. Our Professor assigned as to make a book report and has to be submitted this coming Friday. First Time

I really enjoy watching GMA's "First Time". First Time is a teen-Philippine drama developed by Kit Langit and directed by Andoy Ranay. The series premiered on GMA Network on February 8, 2010 starring Barbie Forteza and Joshua Dionisio, who were previously paired in Stairway to Heaven and Dear Friend: My Christmas List. The story is about Cyndi and Lukas who are a couple of teenagers who met one summer at the beach. Their newfound friendship is immediately put to the test after Lukas’ mother dies from a mysterious accident, which resulted in his father's decision to live abroad. And just like that, Cyndi and Lukas, albeit unwillingly, said their goodbyes. "First Time" is airing from Monday to Friday before 24 Oras.

Meanwhile, I am so excited to Watch Cats In Manila. Lea Salonga will play Grizabella in Lunchbox Theatrical Productions’ staging of Cats in Manila. It will run for four weeks starting in July 2010, with a gala night and weekend matinees, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

OPM MONDAY : APO HIKING SOCIETY

Have you watched SOP yesterday? They paid tribute to Philippine's legendary OPM trio~ APO Hiking Society. This inspire me to have them in my OPM entry this monday.
The Apolinario Mabini Hiking Society, later popularly known as Apo Hiking Society or, simply, Apo, is a Filipino musical group. The group had its fledgling beginnings in 1969 at the the Ateneo de Manila high school, comprised of 13 members: Lito de Joya, Sonny Santiago, Gus Cosio, Renato Garcia, Chito Kintanar, Kenny Barton, Bruce Brown, Butch Dans, Kinjo Sawada, Ric Segreto, Goff Macaraeg, Doden Besa, Jim Paredes, and Boboy Garrovillo.
In the span of their professional career, Apo emerged as a principal adherent of the musical movement termed Original Pilipino Music (a.k.a. OPM), a milieu in which their original musical contributions and cultural influence became essential.
In the three decades since that "farewell" concert, the APO has made 22 record albums; hosted several television shows including their own noontime Sunday show "Sa Linggo nAPO Sila" and noontime show from Monday to Saturday "'Sang Linggo nAPO Sila"; and launched hugely successful major solo concerts and countless provincial, dinner, and corporate shows. They have performed in over 50 cities in the United States, in Canada, Singapore, Indonesia, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Japan to bring Original Pilipino Music to Filipinos the world over. Last December 16, 2009, the APO Hiking Society announced that they are already retiring as a group due to "diminishing creative process." "May Bukas Pa" on its Final Week

ABS-CBN top rated Drama series, May Bukas Pa, is now on its final week. This will be the 38th and final chapter of this top rated drama. May Bukas Pa started airing on February 2, 2009. Supposedly, the show would air until the end of June or first week of July after its initial 20 weeks extension last February. However, due to its ratings success, after the Thanksgiving Mass attended by some of the bosses of ABS-CBN and all artist and crew of the show last Monday, Cory Vidanes (station's television head) announced that the airing of the show will be extended until February 2010. May Bukas Pa is all about Santino (Zaijan Jaranilla) who was abandoned by his mother in a monastery. Santino was raised by the caring priests Father Anthony, Father Jose (, and Father Ringo. As a young boy, Santino will find a friend in a mysterious person named “Bro” who will help him change the lives of the people in their town. May Bukas Pa is a story that is set to open the eyes of viewers that there will always be hope amidst trials and difficulties. Miracles don’t just fall from heaven but comes to those who keep their faith. The show also received multiple awards for promoting moral values to its viewers. On its latest episode, Tilde kidnaps Joy In order to assure that Santino will be granting her request. Tilde has a colon cancer which may harm her baby inside her womb. Meanwhile, GMA's top rated fantaserye, Darna, is now on its final 13 days. Darna will be facing her toughest enemies Valentina, Serpina and Cobra and the returning villain, Babaeng Impakta played by Nadine Samonte. I hope, to make the ending more special, all her previous villains like Babaeng Tuod, Babaeng Linta, Babaeng Lawin, Demonyita, Elektra, Mananangala and Bampira will return and join forces to fight against Darna. (Just hoping for a good ending) The previous Darna played by Angel Locsin ends up not so satisfying for me so i'm hoping that this Darna will give their best and effort to have a special ending.

True Confections is the weekly baking show of QTV-11 and its hosted by Sam Oh of Living It Up and world-class pastry chefs Jackie Ang Po and Aileen Anastacia. I just love this show as they showcase different kinds of yummy and tempting sweet delicacies. It's always been a dream for me to become a pastry chef and i want to create and invent new sweet dishes. Unfortunately, i don't know even how to bake so i guess it's impossible to happen. However, i still love watching their show and i feel like i am being stunned everytime i see their wonderful creations! Yummy! You will learn a lot from the show as experts pastry chefs Jackie and Aileen share some practical and ideal tips in baking and how to make your dishes looks good and taste good! Clean House is a home makeover and interior design television show, in its 7th season, that airs on the Style Network. Privileged is an American television drama. Kitchen Nightmares is an American reality television series in which chef Gordon Ramsay spends a week with a failing restaurant in an attempt to save the establishment.The first season, which focused on restaurants in the Southern California and New York City areas, ended in December, 2007. The second season premiered on September 4, 2008. Season Two included episodes in the upper midwestern United States as well as New York and California. In September, 2008, Fox announced that Kitchen Nightmares will return for a third season, which will premiere Tuesday, January 26, 2010 before moving to its regular Friday night slot on January 29. Drop Dead Diva is an American comedy-drama/fantasy television serie. The series revolves around vapid blonde and aspiring model, Deb Dobson , who is killed in a car crash. Brought back to life in the body of a recently deceased, intelligent, overweight lawyer named Jane Bingum. Initially horrified, Deb – in her new human form – discovers the meaning of inner beauty as she finds the ability to juggle legal cases, aided by her assistant Terri, while attempting to reconnect incognito with her still-grieving boyfriend, Grayson Kent, who just started working at Jane's law firm. May Bukas Pa is a Philippine drama series which started airing on February 2, 2009 at ABS-CBN. Set in the fictional town of Bagong Pag-asa, the story revolves around Santino , an orphan abandoned as a baby in a graveyard where he was found by the old cemetery groundskeeper. The cemetery groundskeeper brought the baby to the priests of the nearby monastery. The priests raised the child, and Santino grew into an adventurous young boy. (aired in Abs Cbn Primetime slot)

Darna is a fantasy-drama television series. It stars Marian Rivera as the title role and its alter-ego Narda, with Iwa Moto as her main nemesis Valentina and Mark Anthony Fernandez as Eduardo. Years after the original Darna had battled the forces of evil, Narda learns that she is the anointed one chosen to save the world from evil forces. Nursing a broken heart, Narda declines because she believes that a simple and crippled woman like her cannot take such a huge responsibility. Her refusal simultaneously triggers the influx of evil forces in the town area, where Darna's rogues are found encased in ice. Full House is a Philippine drama adapted from a Korean drama with the Full House. The story rvolves around Jessie who is a naive writer who got swindled out of everything she owned including her house by her brother, Donald and his wife, Lizette. Stranded in Prague, she managed to borrow money from famous actor Justin Lazatin to return to the Philippines. On her return, she found out that her house was bought by Justin. In an attempt to get her possessions back, she entered in a contract marriage with Justin for one year. In spite of losing all, Jessie manages to be cheerful and takes things in strike and the business relationship between the two becomes personal as they start to rely and care for each other.


Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho is an informative news and public affairs television show in the Philippines hosted by Jessica Soho and it is aired every Saturday evenings by GMA Network. Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho is one of GMA's top rating programs which features an endless range of topics, from the simplest fad to the most critical political issues. It has been leading Saturday's primetime viewership since 2004, and is continuously conquering and growing support from its sole inspiration, the "Kapuso" viewers.

Ang Pinaka is a Filipino news and variety show hosted by Rovilson Fernandez for the Q network in the Philippines. The program first aired on November 13, 2005 with host Pia Guanio. I found Pia Guanio's hostinmg way better than Rovilson.




Spoon is Net 25's first cooking and celebrity talk show hosted by well loved actress/host janice de belen. It is more than just a presentation of great tating and mouth watering recipes from celebrities but how they share what they do and care about where their heart is.

I'm Done Watching Glee Season !

i'm done watching the entire season one of Glee. Glee is an American musical comedy-drama television series. It focuses on a high school show choir (also known as a glee club), called "New Directions!", set within the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio.
Glee features 12 major roles with star billing. Matthew Morrison plays Will Schuester, McKinley High's Spanish teacher who becomes director of the Glee Club, hoping to restore it to its former glory. Jane Lynch is Sue Sylvester, head coach of the cheerleading squad or "Cheerios", and the Glee Club's arch-nemesis. Jayma Mays appears as Emma Pillsbury, the school's mysophobic guidance counselor who has feelings for Will, and Jessalyn Gilsig plays Terri Schuester, Will's demanding and amoral wife of five years.
Lea Michele plays Rachel Berry, talented star of the Glee Club who is often bullied by the Cheerios and football players. Cory Monteith plays Finn Hudson, star quarterback of the school's football team who risks alienation by his friends to join the Glee Club. Also in the club are Amber Riley as Mercedes Jones, a fashion-conscious diva who resents having to sing back-up; Chris Colfer as Kurt Hummel--a role that was written-in to the show's cast after Colfer's audition--a gay male soprano who is bullied by the football team, and struggles in early episodes with his identity; Kevin McHale as Artie Abrams, an electric guitar player and paraplegic; and Jenna Ushkowitz as Tina Cohen-Chang, an Asian American goth student with a fake speech impediment. Mark Salling plays Noah "Puck" Puckerman, a friend of Finn's on the football team who at first disapproves of Finn joining the Glee Club, but later joins the Glee Club himself. Dianna Agron plays Quinn Fabray, Finn's girlfriend, who also joins the club to keep an eye on Finn.

OPM MONDAY: OGIE ALCASID

It's time for another OPM Monday and today i am featuring one of the Philippines' top balladeer. Ogie Alcasid.

Alcasid debuted as a singer in 1989 with the release of his self-titled album. Ogie Alcasid reached gold record status, while his debut single "Nandito Ako" was awarded "Song of the Year" by local radio station Magic 89.9. He has since released 18 albums, including a Christmas album (Larawan ng Pasko, 1994), a live album (OA sa Hits (Live), 2002), and four greatest hits albums. He has received a total of five gold records, three platinum records, and three double platinum records.
